When Samantha, the owner & creative mind behind E Marie Creations contacted me I was too excited about working with her beautiful shop. I couldn't wait to see some of her creations in person & to share them with you.

Hello! I am so glad you have taken the time to stop by my little shop.
I am a Christian young lady who loves to create beautiful and colorful accessories out of resin cabochons and polymer clay. One thing you will notice as you enter my shop is COLOR! I love color, and try to incorporate a lot of different colors into my creations.I have been a artist/crafter ever since I was a little girl. I loved to color, paint, draw and create when I was little. Once I reached the age of 12 or so I am became interested in polymer clay. A hobby that started with me making dollhouse food has turned into a wonderful little home business where I still create little foods- just in jewelry, charm, magnet and pushpin form!
I also enjoy creating bright and beautiful resin cabochon jewelry pieces. There are so many different designs and colors to choose from that I am always coming up with new ideas for jewelry pieces or bobby pins.
About 90% of my supplies are purchased right here on Etsy- I love to support my fellow Etsians! I now how much joy a sale can bring, and like to share that with others.

11 Months Miss Emma Lou

Wow, in just ONE MONTH Miss Emma Lou will turn the BIG ONE!
And oh yes, the party planning is in full swing. Time to get those invites printed up. And boy are they cute.
How bittersweet. I have loved seeing her grow & do new things this past 11 months.

What we're up to:

Wearing size 3 diapers
Wearing 9 months, 6-9 months & some 12 month's
Weighs approximately 19 lbs
We finally got 2 teeth this past month
We've taken our first steps & I would say we're officially walking but still crawl most of the time because it's faster
LOVES to eat--honestly don't know a single thing she doesn't like. We're trying more table food. Loves avocado, macaroni, & pretty much EVERYTHING! In fact she usually finishes her plate as well as Maddox's.
We switched from formula to whole milk this month. No more bottles, only sippy cups.
Loves to play with Maddox, dance & talk
Still sucking our two fingers
Sleeping very well still; usually 14 hours+ a night and a morning nap & afternoon nap. What can I say, we love to sleep.

And of course we think she's a little princess.

Miss Emma Lou has several other tutus but I must say this one goes above & beyond those. Most tutus are simply tied onto the elastic waist. But not this one! Each piece of tulle is secured by stitching, sewn into place. A tutu made to last! And the ribbon ties on each hip make it ole so adorable.

And I love the fullness of the tutu. No skimping on tulle for Fairy Wonderful.

When I came across Liz's shop, According to L, I knew I had found a new favorite shop.
Why? Because her shop is full of absolutely gorgeous items for both Momma & daughter. Items that I can't live without, hehe.

I’ve always been a little crafty; I’ve made scrapbooks, cards, invitations and announcements, and once my 1st daughter was born, that little thing called “free time” seemed to disappear. When my second was born, I was determined to find a hobby again to keep me sane, but being that my world still revolved around my kids, the projects were always geared on creating something cute for them.

I dabble in blogging and after writing a few “DIY” posts for headbands and flowers my friends encouraged me to sell the stuff. I did some research for supplies and costs and decided to set a goal of breaking EVEN within 6 months. I hired Shay Bocks to design my logo (which I LOVE) and off I went into the Etsy world. I opened my shop in August 2011 and by the end of October, I’d cut myself my first “pay check.” I had not only met my goal, but was actually PROFITABLE! Who knew?!

My business plan was simple. Make cute things that could fit into every day life. So many shops feature super cute, super elaborate photo props, and I have some product that fit that niche, I also wanted to offer stuff for the every day kid, as well as the mom – thus the headbands and bobby pins.

Day-old hair can still be cute. No one needs to be the wiser that you hopped out of bed, got the kids ready and had 4 minutes to change out of sweats before going out the door. Lip gloss and a good headband can go a long way!

Life is hard. Look fabulous anyway.

And boy is she right; as a mom of two I find myself many days not doing my hair or even showering for that matter (secrets out). But of course I still love to look cute. And fact is day old hair "poofs" better anyway. So why not poof it and throw a boppy pin in or toss on a headband.

(even if you didn't have time to wash your hair)

And thank goodness Liz was so kind to send me this gorgeous headband so I can rock the day old hair, no makeup and all.

My BIG boy

I knew the day was coming. Over the last week Maddox has been determined to put himself to bed or "Maddox do it" as he puts it. As he launches his little 29 lb body up and over his crib rail I knew it was about time. Or launches as is pulls his 4-wheeler over to use as a stool (handlebars and all) and pulls himself up & over. Funny fact is that he wouldn't climb out because he was afraid of falling. So, oh yes yesterday we switched his bed from his little crib to a big boy bed. Oh how the tears might start flowing. Just in the past 2 days my little babies have both became "big kids", yep that's right I'm officially claiming Emma as a walker (more on that later). But for now, my BIG boy.

I just love coming across shops like Little Blooms Handmade. Why, you ask? Because it's an absolutely perfect shop. Not only does it have some of the cutest accessories for little Miss Emma Lou but for Momma too {and even those baby dolls} which means a double LOVE in my book.

Elizabeth, the creative mind behind Little Blooms Handmade is extremely talented and quite busy I might add. December kept her shop quite busy, working 18+ hours a day to complete her orders and adding 3 small kids to the mix. But you'll quickly see why her shop was so busy...it's packed plum full of cuteness!

A little from Elizabeth:

I am a "twenty something" stay at home mom to three wonderful kids! Two girls and a boy! I love coffee, gardening, reading, spontaneous home improvement, everything anthropologie and baby Snickers bars from the freezer. I was a hairstylist for 10 years and when my oldest daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a year ago we did everything we could so I could stay home.

About 6 months after I stopped working...I could feel all of my creativity start to build up inside of me and it was screaming to get out (apparently I got it out of my system doing hair...)! Since I could never really find hair accessories for my girls that I liked (or that stayed in their hair!) ...I decided to start making cute hair accessories for my girls. I fell in love with doing it! Once I saw how much I loved making things, I started to make hair accessories and cabochon flower jewelry for myself. Now I hope to share my creations with everyone to bring a little whimsy to their day.

They are so perfectly done and have some of the greatest detail. Detail that makes them absolutely perfect!
I can't wait to match one up with a dress for church.

She sent a beautiful white hydrangea headband that is so perfectly done.
The flower was hand cut & hand sewn with pink stitching to make it perfect.

Christmas 2011 Recap A Tad Late

Wow, it seems as if Christmas was already so long ago. The Christmas decorations have been tucked away for several weeks but of course I'm still yet to update.

And if for no one other than myself I would like to update. I love being able to look back and see "us" and get a summary of our lives.

The Christmas fesitivites started early with the annual girl's Secret Santa party.
We've been doing this yearly since high school and boy are we getting old.
Emma Lou even joined us this year.

And as usual I managed to move through Christmas with very few picture. Boy do I really need to get better. Goal of 2012...actually take pictures & learn how to use my DSLR. Forreal this time.

As usual we ate dinner at the hubs parents for Christmas Eve & came home to get all tucked in bed so Santa could come...

I would say Santa thought they had been pretty good this year.
And there was nothing like seeing Maddox's face light up as he rushed into the living room
to see his toys & that Santa had indeed been and ate all the cookies he left.

Then it was off to Christmas brunch at my aunt's house

A house full of family & food always equals a FUN day!

spending time together as a family of 4

and of course tons of presents

and don't forget the occasional breakdown

Poor Emma was exhausted from a day full of fun!

Wow, I feel as if it's been such a whirlwind over the last couple of weeks. From Christmas to New Years I feel as if we've been super busy. I've taken a bit of a break from blogging to spend time with my family but I'm ready to jump back in.

Plus, it's a new year & I have tons of New Year's Resolutions including taking more pictures. I feel as if I'm always regretting not getting pictures. So, today we took a few minutes to play & take pics.

I know I've mentioned it before but Maddox LOVES to play outside. So much so that I think he would live outside.

And as I mentioned in Emma's 10 month post the other day, she is finally cutting her first tooth.

10 Months ~ Miss Emma Lou

Wow, Miss Emma Lou you are just 2 months away from turning the

BIG ONE!

And with each day we see you transform more and more in to a little girl and less of a baby. It makes me so happy to see you grow & learn but at the same time I'm so saddened by the fact that you're no longer a little baby.

As of a few days ago you're in size 3 diapers.

You're still wearing size 6-9 month clothing, 9 month & 6-12 months.
You wear size 3 shoes (only because your foot is getting fat)
You're such a petite little girl.
You're around 28 inches & I'm guessing 17 lbs now.

Still no teeth (update: as of 2 days past your 10 months you have your first tooth coming through)
So close to walking (update: as of 2 days past your 10 months you have taken up to 4 steps)
You take 3 bottles a day (8 oz each) and 3 meals (I'm not sure there's not a food you don't love)
You LOVE scrambled eggs

You absolutely adore your Daddy & Big Brother but I'm thinking you're a Momma's Girl for sure

Merry Christmas from Year's Past...

There's something special about a first Christmas. And as we get ready to celebrate Emma's first Christmas I can't help but think back to Maddox's three years ago. It's almost hard to even imagine that this little man visited Santa for the first time.

And then last year the Santa visit went a little like this...

And this year he's talking about what all "Clause" is bringing him & can't wait to open the presents. I'm so excited about the many years to come and the traditions we're starting. I'm so excited for them to learn the REAL reason for Christmas and how Jesus was born.

Hope EVERYONE has a wonderful Christmas!

And I'm sure I will be back with tons of pictures of the kiddies from Christmas and of course tons of new giveaways to come including several this upcoming week.

A little Glimpse...

As I mentioned in the previous post; we're enjoying Christmas fesitivites around here such as baking. Which in theory sounds like a good idea. But when baking cookies with a two year old this might not be the brightest of ideas for an OCD control freak type of mom.

But in case you're wondering, baking with a 2 year old might look something like this...

Needless to say this required a trip straight to the tub.

It's Christmas Week...

But for now I'm going to enjoy my family (the hubs is off for 2 weeks) and do 'Christmas Things' like bake cookies & shop & wrap presents.

Why, because Christmas is officially less than a week away!! I must say that I have ALWAYS loved
Christmas and now I still LOVE IT. Only for different reasons. Yes, Jesus is still the ultimate reason but I LOVE seeing Christmas through my kids eyes. I love hearing Maddox say "Claus" and I can't wait to see his face light up that morning. And I couldn't wait to take them to see Santa. It's so hard to believe this is Maddox's 3rd year sitting on his lap and Emma's very first.

I just love that our mall has the coolest of setups including movies with whales & polar bears. A place you can feel the artic ice (coolest thing ever) and a big huge snowglobe you can walk through and play. And not to mention Santa but with all that who really even needs Santa. So, a few weeks ago (the same day we had Emma's ears pierced) we visited Santa....

But, his all time LOVE, the snow room. He had a blast & LOVED throwing it on me

And even though he was super excited to see Santa, when the time came to sit on his lap he became quite apprehensive

But all in all I think it was a good Santa visit.

**And because several people had asked, and I would do a whole post in itself but of course I was too busy holding to take pictures

I had wanted to get Emma's ears pierced for the longest time but up until recently the hubs had been totally against it. I think he just didn't see the reason. But, we decided as part of her Chritmas present we would get her ears pierced. So, off to the mall we went. I picked out the sweetest white gold balls & it was time. I think the worst part of the whole thing was that I held Emma in a headlock. Yes mam a headlock! Now we couldn't have crooked ears could we? She is doing great with her ears. We're supposed to clean them 3x/day for 8 weeks but most days we've been just getting twice in. But no infections & they look super cute! I was a tad worried about the fact that she is 9 months old & messes with her ears but honestly she hasn't bothered them at all.

9 Months- Miss Emma Lou

So, perhaps I'm a week late blogging this but

Miss Emma Louise is 9 months old.

I honestly can't believe it, it seems like just yesterday that I found out I was having a little girl.

But, boy is she growing away & developing into such a little girl. And a very active little girl at that.

What We're Up to:

So petite at 16 lbs 13 ounces (10-25%) & 28 inches long
Wearing Size 2 Diapers still
Wearing 6-9 month clothes & 9 month clothes
Crusing around with furniture & pull to stand toys
Can stand on her own for short periods of time
We got our ears pierced this last week!! ::squeal:: I have been working on my husband since way before she was born but he has been so against it & finally caved
Celebrated her 1st Thanksgiving which of course her momma lacked on taking pictures!
Saying all kinds of consonants; mama, dada
She talks up a storm; she does this thing with her tongue & says bubbabubbabubba & it's pretty comical
Still sleeping through the night since 5 1/2 weeks old; PRAISE GOD! Sleeps 12-14+ hours/night.
Generally takes a morning & afternoon nap; 2+ hours
LOVES her brother & watches EVERYTHING he does.
Taking 2-3 bottles/day. The doctor is wanting us to really push this & try to get 24 oz in a day being she's in the 10th percentile.
Definitely a girl on the go. She hates the jumperoo & anything stationary or that she has to sit in.

Mohawk Home Rugs Review & Giveaway {RV: $149)

There's nothing like a rug to spice up a room. That's right you can have the simplest of rooms but with the right rug the room just "pops".

So, when I had the chance to work with Mohawk Home I jumped at the chance. Up until recently our kitchen table had nothing but the tile underneath. Let's just say it was plain jane as you can see below.

Mohawk Home was so kind to give me the chance to choose a rug up to $149.99 which includes
5' x 8' rugs, doormats, kitchen rugs, bath mats, and rug padding. After looking around at their retailers we chose the Mohawk Home 5' x 8' Tropical Acres Select Strata Area Rug from Lowes which retails for $149

I just knew that it would give our kitchen the perfect "pop". I loved the fact that it had such vibrant colors such as the orange's & turquoise. And I loved that it had a modern twist to it with the paisley & flower print.
And boy was I right. I couldn't wait to roll it out beneath our table.

I must say that the background color was darker than what was in the picture but I'm actually quite happy about that. At least it hides the dirt & food that Maddox drops. And another fact that I love about this rug is that it is made in the USA. It seems as if all of our products these days are made in China so when I find a company that makes their items here in the USA I bookmark that company as one to buy from again.

I also love that local retailers (Kohl's, Lowes, Home Depot, Target, Walmart, etc.) carry
Mohawk Home products. So, it's just that easy; I can head over to my local store & get rugs for my entire home. Rugs that I know are high quality products with affordable prices.

As of a week ago the desktop has bit the dust. And more importantly all my pictures are trapped inside. Let me just tell you a little about their shoes. They recently came out with a new concept for the soft soled shoes. They sew on a toughtek sold to the outer suede sole. Other shops are using toughtek but not with the suede sole as well. They put both! The toughtek allows the child to wear their shoes outside without ruining them.Even when worn in a puddle! The toughtek is waterproof. Definitely a BIG PLUS in my book!

All shoes are handmade in choice of leather or suede color. And they even make winter boots in any color, suede or leather. And my favorite is that they personalize them with a name or your choice of saying/date/etc.!

As you can quickly see, Soft Soul Baby Shoes is an amazing shop! They sell internationally and have even shipped to Russia, Norway, England, Australia, Switzerland, Israel & their largest client base coming from France.

Another amazing thing they do is, they put up their daily production on facebook. Customers are able to follow their order 3 days after payment.

So, you actually get to see your shoes before they even arrive!

This Time of Year....

I have always loved this time of year and have tons of things to be thankful for. However, about 3 years ago it became extra special...and I had one HUGE thing to be thankful for.

For those that are unfamiliar with my story, Josh & I were married June of 2006 and a year later decided we wanted to start a family. I had always had "that feeling" that we would have trouble. Don't ask me how but I just knew. So after a few months of "trying" my OB-GYN told me what I had expected; I had problems. At this point I wasn't sure what this meant other than the fact that I didn't ovulate. So, soon afterwards Josh & I made the decision to start Clomid. A drug that should make me ovulate. The only problem was that it didn't. No eggs, no nothing!
So, on to the next step...seeing a specialist (reproductive endocrinologist) who right away diagnosed me with PCOS (polycystic ovaries) and started me on Metformin for insulin resistance. I was told that sometimes the Metformin in itself would help with ovulation, but of course in my case it didn't. I still didn't ovulate. Tests confirmed that my tubes were not blocked (a good thing), my thyroid levels were good...I just had PCOS and I DID NOT ovulate.
Which ultimately meant on to the next step, a new set of drugs. Femara to help produce eggs, Ovidrel injection to trigger the release of the eggs & tests to confirm that I ovulated. Luckily this regimen did cause me to ovulate but the bad thing was NO PREGNANCY.
Long story short... 1,133 pills, 10 injections,112 other hormones/supplements, 2 iui's and sometimes daily drives to Charlotte (hour away) at 5 AM
on the day before Thanksgiving 2008 we found out we were expecting.

And on December 15th 2008 we saw our precious miracle

So, yes this time of year is EXTRA special because now I hold my two precious babies in my lap and
THANK GOD for my miracles. Just 3 years ago I saw those 2 pink lines that changed our life's forever.

Canvas 4 Life {Review}

I absolutely love decorating my house with pictures and I especially like photos on canvases. So, when I had the opportunity to work with Canvas4Life I jumped at the opportunity. From everything that I had seen on their website I absolutely loved their work.

Back during the summer we had visited the beach & I had fell so in love with this sweet picture of my 2 little ones.

And I knew it would make an absolute perfect canvas print...and because bigger is always better (lol) I chose the largest size that I could, a 30x20.

It was so simple, I uploaded the picture to Canvas4Life then I was able to choose my options such as the layout (single vs split panel), the size, the finish, the depth of the canvas, and I even had the chance to apply PhotoPerfect to automatically make any adjustments to my photo to enhance the final look.

And I could hardly wait to see the final result...so when FedEx dropped off my HUGE package I couldn't wait to tear in. And this is what I found inside...

An absolute perfect canvas print. that I absolutely can't wait to hang in the bonus room.
Not only did Canvas4Life provide a perfect piece of canvas printing but an absolute wonderful customer friendly website. It was so easy to upload my picture and make my canvas come to life. And they were right there with live chat if I had any questions.

Yesterday, I was playing with picnik and decided to make a little collage to see just how much Emma has grown over the last 8 months...
so of course I had to share!

I just love watching her grow into a little girl.

When I came across Kristen's shop, Macaroy Kangaroo and saw what she had written on her home page...

"...I put a lot of thought into my children's names,
so I figure it makes sense to put them on as many products as I can"

I knew that I had found a new favorite shop. I know I've said it many times before but an item is that much more special & adorable if it's monogrammed. And of course that is exactly what you will find at Macaroy Kangaroo. But what I love most about her shop is that her products are not only adorable but they're unique. Items that you can't just pick up at any 'ol shop.

And as I looked around her shop I realized me and her had many of the same tastes...from her awesome Scout bags to custom clothing to jewelry to the housewares to decor and more I couldn't find a single item that I didn't absolutely love.

I just LOVE introducing all my followers/friends to fun shops such as Macaroy Kangaroo
because I know y'all will just love it as much as I do.
And honestly it's just one of those shops that there are too many things to even list...definitely one you must check out.

And because of her I have totally fell in love with Viva Beads which is now on my Christmas list.

But of course my all time love is her custom children clothes...completely love her

But the most awesome baby shower gift would have to be her awesome Monthly Onesie Baby Stickers.
Just one of those must have items in my opinion. They make the cutest montly pictures. And boy do I love her designs.

Miss Emma Lou is 8 Months!

That's Right as of October 28th Emma Lou is 8 months old! Seriously where has the time gone. In just 4 months she will be a year old. And yes the party planning has begun. In fact I have even ordered the cake. Call me crazy but the bakery was filling up quickly.

What We're Up To:

Wearing Size 6-9 months & 6-12 months
Wearing Size 2 Diapers
Wearing Size 2 Shoes
Cruising with Furniture & Walking Toys. My guess is by 9 months we'll have a walker.
Nursing 3 Times A Day but it's coming to an end quickly. We will soon be a Similac baby.
Eating Solids 3 times/day
Loves Gerber Crunchies, Yogurt Melts, Puffs & Mum Mum's
Absolutely adores her brother & can't play with him enough.
Such a Mommy's girl, I LOVE IT!
Approximately 16 lbs. So petite!
Loves to talk!
